landscape (06/12/47), photo technique on painting on carton Correction of the reality

Since the beginning of 1996 I operated with photoemulsion. In the first phase I painted landscapes. Over it I spread out the photoemulsion and reproduced letters of my father from the forties on the landscapes. Since 1997 I reproduced over the painting deduction of own landscape photographs from Anhaltini. I went back to my spartial roots in Anhaltini, saw the changes and things that had not changed. I took photos of the landscapes with me and connected the photos with my recollections. Compounds and interprenetations raised.

Process cycle:

  1. Painting:
In each case the painting on muslin or carton makes the start. It is an orientation assistance.
  2. Photographing process:
Afterwards to it I return to the given up places. I look up it, to order my own time and former events to again-meet. Strange to say I cannot read off it in the optically visible world. In order to take at least somewhat of it with me, I photograph often unaffected landscapes, sometimes I meet modifications.
  3. Photo-technical process:
Both raw marerial I convert in the photo laboratory to cross fade situation. The painting is overlaid and covered partially by the landscape photographies. Mixtures and penetrations develop without one of the raw materials remains intact.
  4. Correction of the created reality:
After drying I see the first time exact, how much I was exposed to the coincidence. Now the actual work begins. Stocktaking. What is visible. Ara waitíng. I talk with the picture. Examine his more or less deplore-worth status. I look for the structure in the chaos.
