Installation of the Add-ons


The archives with the hole desktop art stuff for KDE does not contain the OpenOffice.org-1.1 toolbar and the Gimp splash screens. You may download and install this content seperatly.

Install the OpenOffice.org-1.1 toolbar icons

The toolbar icons were generated by a script found at http://www.kde-look.org ->.

  1. Be sure, you are using OpenOffice.org version 1.1!
  2. Download and unpack the content file.
  3. Copy the directory OpenOffice.org_Toolbar_22x22/soffice.cfg to your config directory ~/OpenOffice.org-1.1/user/config/soffice.cfg. If the directory exist, make a backup first or rename it.

Install the Gimp splash screens

The splash screens for Gimp you may find in the global gimpdatadir. It is only possible to change the splash screens for all user.
  1. Download and unpack the content file.
  2. Became root and run the script install.sh. It makes a backup of the old splash screen and replace it by the new one.
  3. Uninstallation is possible by running the script uninstall.sh. You will need to be root too. The backup is restored.
